This 1993 Mazda RX-7 Touring was acquired by the seller in 2022 and was subsequently refurbished with work involving repainting the body in blue, re-trimming the interior in tan leather, replacing the twin-turbocharged 1.3-liter Wankel rotary, and overhauling the five-speed manual transmission. The car has been modified with aftermarket exhaust components, a Koyorad radiator, 18″ BBS wheels, and APEXi coilovers. Additional equipment includes a limited-slip differential, the Touring Package, a sunroof, air conditioning, and a Bose Acoustic Wave sound system. This FD RX-7 has 120k miles and is now offered at no reserve with a clean Carfax report and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Montego Blue Metallic and was repainted under current ownership. It has a rear spoiler, pop-up headlights, front fender vents, and a power antenna, while the Touring Package added fog lights, a sunroof, and a rear wiper. The 18″ BBS wheels are mounted with 235/40 front and 265/35 rear Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R tires. APEXi coilovers have been added, and braking is provided by four-wheel anti-lock discs with four-piston front calipers. The brake master cylinder was rebuilt in September 2022.
The twin high-backed bucket seats have been re-trimmed in tan leather and are joined by color-coordinated carpets and door panels. Amenities include drilled aluminum clutch and brake pedals, a cassette stereo, a CD player, cruise control, air conditioning, and a Bose Acoustic Wave sound system.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,500-rpm redline, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level, the latter of which is noted to have been replaced in January 2023 along with the fuel sending unit. The digital odometer indicates 120k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The twin-turbocharged 1.3-liter Wankel rotary was reportedly modified with an aftermarket downpipe, a Koyorad aluminum radiator, and an aftermarket alternator pulley, and the engine was replaced in September 2022. Additional service at that time included installing a used ECU and replacing the wiring harness, various gaskets, spark plugs, intercooler, air intake, coolant hoses, water pump housing, and idler pulley. Compression test readings are shown in the gallery. The car last passed a California emissions test in October 2003.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential. The transmission was reportedly rebuilt in September 2022, and the clutch hydraulic cylinders were replaced at that time. An ACT clutch kit has been installed according to the seller.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage. A gap in entries is present from 2003 through 2015.
The car is registered as Planned Non-Operation in the state of California.
